As an Engineer 1 you will contribute to numerous engineering projects that enhance user productivity on mobile devices or support infrastructure for 2 way radio systems. Primary duties include:

Lead or participate the delivery of Information Technology engineering and operational projects (including requirements gathering, project cost estimates, technical specifications, project planning, commission and troubleshoot installations, monitoring, testing and quality control).
Provide operational support (such as troubleshooting and resolving system/network failures, root cause analysis, conduct system upgrades/testing) to wireless communication infrastructure and devices.
Research new mobile technology trends, collaborate with customers and industry peers to identify future enterprise capability requirements and make technology adoption recommendations.
Manage the life cycle of current infrastructure and end points, review and optimize existing processes and procedures and participate in the preparation and evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFP).



Qualifications

A degree in Engineering, registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada, current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) or licensure by the first day of work.
You have experience with tier 2/3 hardware and systems support for wireless communication services, testing and certifying wireless products.
Experience with the following will be considered assets: Remedy, MSPS, PeopleSoft, Microsoft (MS) ActiveSync, wireless networks including Long-Term Evolution (LTE) and ultra narrow band, 2-way radio communication, Wi-Fi, authentication and Virtual Private network (VPN) technologies, Internet of Things (IoT), wearable technology, mobile devices and operating systems (iOS and Android), enterprise mobility management, and mobile computing.
Working knowledge of MS Structured Query Language (SQL), Windows sever administration and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications will also be considered assets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a team environment working collaboratively with both technical and non-technical customers and vendors.
Strong technical and analytical skills, problem solving abilities, organizational and time management skills with the ability to adapt to constantly changing priorities and a commitment to continuous learning.
