Job Overview

Reporting to the general manager, market and trade risk management, you will be leading a team of risk analysts and reporting on the market activities of our commodities, principally natural gas and power.

Key Accountabilities

Responsible for leading an experienced team of middle office risk analysts
Overseeing a wide range of other traded commodities, excluding crude oil
Coordinate with a wide group of our stakeholders including traders, marketers, schedulers, middle office, contract admin, back office and IT
Serve as a key governance support role and assist with the design and implementation of new governance initiatives
Oversee and directly influence any day-to-day issues that arise during implementations
Recommend and implement best practices in risk management and be accountable for system upgrades
Ensure compliance with the treasury operations policies and procedures for trade operations across domestic and international markets
Develop, review and revise foreign exchange, investment and other trade policies and procedures as required
Reporting on open positions such as profit and loss (P/L) and understands value at risk (VaR) reporting for inclusion in daily reporting and analysis
Required Qualifications

Experience and Education:

10+ years of relevant trading experience, including middle office and natural gas
Experience with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) platforms, VaR reporting and P/L
Previous management experience is an asset
MBA, CFA designation or PEng preferred
Post-secondary education, preferably in business or engineering
Skills and Knowledge:

In-depth knowledge and understanding of middle office, natural gas and risk governance methods
Strong knowledge of trade/risk governance methods and key controls
Ability to implement and recommend best risk management practices
You are results driven and thrive working in a rapidly changing environment
You take charge and are able to assert yourself; you are a self-starter.
