最近这段时间，对于卡尔加里市民来说，影响最大的一件事恐怕要数卡尔加里市选了。

因为，执掌了三届的市长Nenshi决议不再参选市长，各路“豪杰”相聚竞相参选，想给卡城改朝换代。


大家都知道，最后的结果前几天就出来了，卡城建市一百多年以来第一位女市长诞生了↓

Nenshi当政的十几年时间里，卡尔加里的房产税年年大涨，让不少市民怨声载道，不少人甚至选择用脚投票。

但是，Jyoti上台是真的会为卡城带来新气象吗？

在市选结果出来之后，有这么一个网站引起了大家的注意，叫做https://www.calgarysfuture.ca/ （卡城未来），上面列了一每个区力推的候选人，结果市选结果出来以后，卡城14位议员候选人竟然有8位来自这个名单↓


令人感到诡异的是，目前这个网站上所有的市议员候选人信息竟然被拿了下来。

而凑巧的是，这个网站推崇的市长候选人也是Jyoti Gondek↓


这么神奇的网站？竟然推荐的人选占据了卡城未来议会席位的60%，如果他们是一股势力，要投票的话基本上毫无悬念了。

网站上也很明显的标示，来自Calgarians for a Progressive Future的组织↓


经网友提醒和小编扒料，这个组织跟工会有着千丝万缕的关系↓

而根据CBC的报道，从本质上来讲，前任Nenshi和Jyoti同属progressive阵营，两者某种程度上会在政策和执政理念有一定延续性↓




也许大家都已经知道，在过去多年的时间里，卡尔加里市长Nenshi和Sean Chu朱文祥一直不对付，甚至还发生了抢夺麦克风的激烈事件↓


而最近，针对Sean Chu的“丑闻”却从20多年的历史堆揪了出来，先不管这件事的对错与否，重新在市选这个关键时刻拿出来值得玩味。

这一切，显然就是冲着Sean Chu来的！

以前得罪了某些势力，现在要被秋后算账。目前，除了前后两任市长，还有上面网站提到的4位新市议会议员都要求Sean Chu辞职。

朱文祥遭受了职业生涯前所未有的挑战！


尽管媒体在选举前突然片面地歪曲事实地披露了对Sean Chu（朱文祥）发生在24年前的、早已了结的、被裁定为无法律依据的指控，Sean Chu 仍然正式当选为Ward 4的Councillor。（见下图报道）





他在10月21日的新闻发布会上已经阐明了真相，但有些不完全了解真相或者别有意图的政客和人士还在谴责他并施压让他辞职。 

朱文祥是合法当选的市议员，民主选举不容践踏。朱文祥市议员代表民意。他若是被迫辞职，卡城议会将失去一个至关重要的一贯为市民财务把关的声音，那可能是灾难性的。

反对势力没了，以后市议会就是一言堂了！

一批反朱的人士已宣布这周日中午在City Hall前举行罢免朱的示威集会。

在此危机时刻，许多卡城居民， 尤其Ward 4的选民感到非常气愤，已经无法容忍这种破坏民主程序的政治迫害！我们需要站出来发声！支持Sean！显示选民的力量，坚决反对破坏民主的胡作非为。

经“援助Sean Chu”筹备组的紧急讨论决定，将在本周日在市中心举行大型游行集会，发出我们的声音。

Hello everyone!
Councillor Sean Chu is duly elected. Elections Calgary has confirmed that. People spoke and voters have spoken.
The democratic process and results have to be honored and respected. This is a fundamental of our democracy.
Sean Chu served Calgary Ward 4 for two consecutive terms since 2013 and did an excellent job. That is why he was voted into the office again for the third term despite the controversial media report before the election.
Human being makes mistakes, it is given. However, the most important thing is to learn from them and become a better person. Sean Chu has done that.
Sean Chu is a good father and a responsible councillor. His conscientious examination on public spending is definitely needed in the City Hall.
We gather here today to support Sean Chu, the duly elected Calgary Ward 4 Councillor.
We are a group of the ordinary citizens in Calgary.

Letter to the Public
 
Hello everyone!
We gather here to offer our staunch support for Sean Chu, the duly elected Calgary Ward 4 Councillor.  
Make no mistakes, we categorically condemn sexual assault, especially on minors and by those in power. However, in Sean Chu’s case, his only mistake was to have a brief consensual intimacy with a lady he met at an adult only establishment wearing a uniform. It turned out that she was only 16 years of age at that time, but who would not have assumed a customer in a licensed and age-verified bar is at least 18 years old?!  Sean already explained the details and his innocence during his news conference last Thursday.  
More importantly, the case was thoroughly investigated by all levels of law enforcement and legal processes, including the Law Enforcement Review Board and the Alberta Court of Appeal, and in the end, there was no charge against Sean. As one Ward 4 citizen put it to the CBC News aired last Thursday morning, Sean has been a councillor since 2013, why this becomes an issue now? The timing sounds very “fishy”. In fact, the timing looks very much a case of clear political and character assassination!
We support Sean because he was officially elected by the citizens of Ward 4, despite the dubiously timed media leak of distorted and misleading information just 3 days before the election date. People still voted for him because of his solid track record to serve Ward 4 and the City of Calgary since 2013. No doubt, his “fiscal hawk” character with true care about taxpayers’ money has made some reckless spenders unhappy, and it could potentially be disastrous if we lose Sean’s fierce voice in the city chamber over the next 4 years.   
We support Sean because he is clearly a victim of a political persecution. This is an assault on our cherished democratic political process. They ignore the fact that Sean was not charged nor found to break any law in an exhaustively investigated and fully resolved case decades ago; and they hastily drew their conclusions from the distorted media reports to condemn Sean and demand his resignation. Yes, Sean made a mistake, but no body is perfect. Sean and his family have paid a tremendous price for it. More importantly, Sean has learned from it and has been a great contributor to the society.
We support Sean because he has been an extremely passionate and diligent professional and volunteer. His exceptional services and contributions have been widely recognized. He was awarded the Calgary Police Services’ Distinguished Service Award shortly after his retirement, and the Alberta Centennial Medal and the Queens Diamond Jubilee Medal, just to name a few.
All and all, Sean is a very dedicated, competent and responsible city councillor, and Calgary needs his services. There are too many reasons for Sean to sit as an equal councillor, like everyone else elected by the citizens of Calgary.
